About 2000 stolen trucks illegally registered in Arunachal, Nagaland


Nagpur, 04 July (HS): Nagpur Rural Regional Transport Office suspects that 1500 to 200 stolen trucks over the past years were illegally registered in different states. The Department has written to all major manufacturers seeking details of about 8000 trucks to verify the authenticity and registration records. A complaint has been filed by the RTO in this connection. The accused allegedly exploited the looholes in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, where physical inspection or verification was not mandatory. The stolen trucks were first registered in those states and later transferred to Nagpur Rural RTO, enabling them to obtain legititame registration records.Based on the RTO complaint, Nagpur's Kapila Nagar Police Station has registered an offence and initiated investigation. RTO authorities are coordinating with manufacturers for examining the records and expose the racket behind fake registration.
