New Delhi, 04 July (H.S.): Supporters of environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk on Saturday claimed that his health has been deteriorating steadily as he continues his hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in Delhi for the past seven days. According to his supporters, Wangchuk has lost nearly 5.5 kilograms during the fast, while his blood pressure has fallen significantly below normal levels, raising serious concerns about his health.

Abhijeet Dipke, chief of the social media campaign group Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), shared a post on social media platform X claiming that Wangchuk's weight had dropped by around 5.5 kilograms. He further alleged that Wangchuk's blood sugar and blood pressure levels were considerably below normal and that his condition remained serious.

According to Dipke, Wangchuk has stated that he will continue his indefinite fast until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post or is removed by the government.

Wangchuk's supporters warned that if any harm comes to him amid his declining health, the government would be held responsible. They also appealed to the government to intervene promptly and resolve the issue.

Notably, members of the Cockroach Janata Party have been staging a protest at Jantar Mantar for the past 15 days. The protesters are demanding accountability in the alleged NEET paper leak case, a fair investigation into the matter, and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. As part of the protest, Wangchuk has been observing an indefinite hunger strike for the past seven days.

However, no official statement has so far been issued by the concerned government agencies or medical authorities regarding the claims about Sonam Wangchuk's health condition or his medical status.
