
Lucknow, 31 July (HS): With an aim to establish Uttar
Pradesh as a leading hub of global trade, manufacturing and exports, the fourth
edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) will be held from
September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida. Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath, while reviewing the preparations for the event on
Friday, described it as an important opportunity to present Uttar Pradesh's
industrial capacity, innovation, products and export potential to the world.
The Chief Minister said that in the past three editions, the
Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show has effectively connected the state's
products, enterprises, and industries to national and international markets.
Now, the event is no longer just a trade exhibition, but a global platform to
advance Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Make in India and
Make for the World. He said that Uttar Pradesh is a state of
unlimited potential, and the UP International Trade Show is the
most effective platform to realize this potential. He directed that the event
be widely promoted both domestically and abroad to attract more investors,
buyers, and visitors.
It was informed in the meeting that this year's theme of the
trade show is UP for Global Growth: Innovation, Manufacturing and
Exports. The event aims to attract over 2,400 exhibitors, over 150,000
registered B2B buyers, over 450,000 B2C visitors, and over 550 international
buyers from 85 countries. Additionally, over 4,000 MoUs (Memorandum of
Understandings), proposed MoUs (MoUs) worth over 3,200 crore, and business
inquiries worth over 13,500 crore rupees (approximately $13.5 billion) are
expected. The Chief Minister also directed to establish active dialogue with
other countries, including Singapore, Oman, Austria, Brazil, Thailand, Japan,
Indonesia, and Russia, to ensure their maximum participation.
The Chief Minister was informed that this time there will be
a comprehensive display of ODOP, ODOC, MSME, Electronics & IT, Defence
& Aerospace, Agriculture & Allied Sectors, Tourism & Film,
Renewable Energy, Auto & Electric Vehicles, Pharma & Health, Skill
Development, Civil Aviation, Financial Services, Startup, Logistics, Food
Processing, Handicrafts, Khadi, Textiles, Leather, Furniture and other major
sectors, thereby showcasing the diverse industrial and economic potential of Uttar
Pradesh on a single platform.
The Chief Minister directed that the knowledge sessions be
made useful for the industry, investors, and entrepreneurs. These sessions
should include expert discussions on artificial intelligence and cybercrime,
electronics manufacturing, banking and finance, solid waste management, new
labor codes, food processing policy, road safety, e-commerce, global free trade
agreements, MSMEs, and other contemporary topics. He also said that along with
business activities, Uttar Pradesh's rich cultural heritage should also be a
hallmark of this event. To this end, attractive performances of classical
music, Kathak, folk dance, folk singing, bhajans, ghazals, and other cultural
presentations should be organized on all days, so that guests from India and
abroad can experience the cultural diversity of Uttar Pradesh.
The meeting also noted that extensive coordination has been
undertaken with Indian missions abroad to connect with international buyers.
Constant contact is being established with buyers from various countries, and
efforts are being made to provide new global markets to Uttar Pradesh's
entrepreneurs and exporters through buyer-seller meetings.
The Chief Minister directed to ensure deployment of Udyam
Mitras during the trade show and to increase the participation of students and
youth from local universities and other higher educational institutions, so
that better facilities and support can be provided to visitors, buyers and
entrepreneurs.
The Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissioner, who joined the
meeting virtually, informed the Chief Minister about the preparations being
made for traffic management, parking, VIP movement, security arrangements, and
public convenience during the event. The Chief Executive Officer of the Greater
Noida Industrial Development Authority also informed the Chief Minister about
the progress of infrastructure and other arrangements being developed at the
venue. The Chief Minister said that the operation of EV buses should also be
ensured for the convenience of visitors during the event.
The Chief Minister stated that the Uttar Pradesh
International Trade Show is not just a business event, but an important step
towards the goal of a developed Uttar Pradesh and a trillion-dollar economy. He
directed all departments to ensure timely preparations with mutual
coordination, so that the event emerges as an effective showcase of Uttar
Pradesh's industrial progress, investment-friendly environment, and global
competitiveness.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Area Development Scheme (SVIDY). He
was informed that an Expression of Interest (EOI) was issued on May 27th for
this ambitious scheme, which aims to transform the state into a national hub
for skill development, employment generation, and industrial growth. The BVG
Group, TCS, and Hiranandani Group have expressed interest. A team of officials
has already studied the Tata IIS centers, while TCS has agreed to collaborate
as the technical partner. Approximately 1,320 acres of land has been identified
in 19 districts, and in the first phase, 17 centers will be developed through
MSME, UPIDA, GNIDA, YEIDA, UPEDA, BIDA, and GIDA. The meeting was informed that
under the scheme, nine regional hub-and-spoke models have been developed, with
a target of providing skill training to approximately 1 million youth annually
and placing 80 percent of the trained youth.
For effective implementation of the scheme, the Chief
Minister directed to carry forward the work in a time-bound manner by ensuring
effective coordination among all the concerned departments.
