Guwahati, 31 July (HS): Assam Director General of Police (DGP) has appealed to all officers and employees of Assam Police to donate one day's salary from their July 2026 pay towards the relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected people across the state.
The appeal follows a decision taken during a meeting chaired by the DGP on July 28 in view of the devastating floods that have affected thousands of families in Assam.
All Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have been directed to obtain consent from personnel, deduct the one-day salary from their July wages and remit the amount to the Assam Police Central Distress Fund.
The DGP said the unprecedented flood situation has left a large number of people in distress, making it the collective responsibility of all to extend support during this critical period. DDOs have also been asked to submit a compliance report, along with details of the amount remitted, to the Police Headquarters after completing the process.----------
