Bhubaneswar, 31 July (H.S.) : Serious allegations of repeated question paper leaks have surfaced at Xavier University, Bhubaneswar. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has accused the university administration of jeopardizing the future of meritorious students in the name of “quality education.”

ABVP leader Deeptimayee Pratihari strongly condemned the alleged retaliatory actions taken by the university following students’ complaints. Meanwhile, National Executive Member Biswajit Patra warned that the organization would be compelled to launch an agitation if the issue is not resolved immediately.

According to reports, the question paper for the B2B quiz examination scheduled on July 21 was leaked. Subsequently, on July 22, students submitted a written complaint to the Vice-Chancellor, demanding corrective measures and accountability. Despite the issue being raised multiple times in the past, no concrete action has been taken, leading to growing dissatisfaction among students.

Following the complaint, the university administration, on July 24, cancelled the examination and rescheduled it for July 28. However, repeated incidents of this nature have adversely affected students’ grades and overall academic performance.

ABVP further alleged that the university has not appointed an Ombudsperson for the past two years, in violation of UGC norms. Additionally, students have reportedly been threatened with disciplinary action for raising their concerns, which the organization termed deeply alarming.

In a further escalation, some students have been issued notices to vacate their hostels by the evening of July 31. ABVP described this move as indicative of a repressive approach by the university administration.

The organization has demanded that the Vice-Chancellor and university authorities take immediate, student-centric corrective steps, failing which a large-scale protest will be launched.
