New Delhi, 03 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajasthan and Gujarat on Saturday, July 4, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several major development projects. In Rajasthan, he will launch projects worth nearly Rs 1.06 lakh crore, while in Gujarat he will inaugurate CG Semi's Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility, aimed at strengthening India's semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. The Prime Minister will also address a public gathering during the visit.
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Prime Minister Modi will begin his visit at around 10:45 a.m. in Jodhpur, where he will inaugurate the newly constructed airport terminal building, developed at a cost of Rs 480 crore. Spread across more than 23,000 square metres, the terminal has the capacity to handle two million passengers annually.
During the same programme, the Prime Minister will launch the revised UDAN scheme. With an allocation of Rs 28,840 crore for the next ten years, the scheme aims to develop 100 new airports, construct 200 modern heliports, and further strengthen regional air connectivity across the country.
Later, the Prime Minister will travel to Balotra, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects worth approximately Rs 1.06 lakh crore. The highlight of the programme will be the dedication to the nation of India's first greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Pachpadra, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 79,450 crore. With a refining capacity of 9 MMTPA (million metric tonnes per annum), the project is expected to significantly enhance India's energy security, petrochemical self-reliance, and industrial growth.
Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for Phase II of the Jaipur Metro Rail Project. The project, estimated to cost more than Rs 13,000 crore, includes the construction of a 41-kilometre north-south metro corridor with 36 stations, strengthening public transport connectivity between Jaipur's industrial and residential areas. The first phase, comprising an 11.64-kilometre corridor with 11 stations, is already operational.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for the Churu-Sadulpur and Churu-Ratangarh railway doubling projects, a four-lane stretch of the Jodhpur Ring Road, 1,000 MW and 300 MW solar power projects in Bikaner, and power transmission projects linked to Rajasthan's renewable energy sector.
On the occasion, appointment letters will also be distributed to nearly 54,000 newly selected candidates recruited across various departments of the Rajasthan Government.
In the evening, the Prime Minister will visit Sanand in Gujarat to inaugurate CG Semi's Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility. Developed with an investment of more than Rs 7,500 crore, the plant is among the first four projects approved under the India Semiconductor Mission.
Once fully operational, the facility will have the capacity to manufacture up to five billion semiconductor chips annually, catering to the requirements of the automobile, telecommunications, 5G, industrial, and Internet of Things (IoT) sectors.
