
Hyderabad, July 3 (HS): A 26-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide in a hotel room in Hyderabad's Langar Houz area in the early hours of Friday, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Renuka, a resident of Alwal. She was married, had a child and was employed at a restaurant and pub in the city.
According to police, Renuka checked into the hotel with a man at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. The man left the hotel at around 10.30 p.m. on Thursday, while she remained in the room.
Police said Renuka ordered dinner at around 11.56 p.m. Later, she made a video call to her friend, identified as Satya. During the call, she allegedly died by suicide. The friend immediately alerted the hotel staff, who informed the police.
Langar Houz Inspector B. Venkat Ramulu told Hindusthan Samachar that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
A police team visited the hotel, conducted a preliminary inspection and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.
Police are examining CCTV footage, analysing the deceased's mobile phone and questioning the man who had accompanied her to the hotel to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
