Gorakhpur, 29 July (HS): On the auspicious occasion of Guru

Purnima on Wednesday morning, Gorakshapeethadhiswar and Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath performed special worship of Shivaavatar Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath as

per the tradition of Nath sect. On this occasion, he also worshipped his

Gurudev Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath, Dadaguru Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath,

Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath and all the gurus of Nath sect as per the rituals.

Gorakshapeethadhiswar paid his respects to Lord Gorakhnath and other gurus and

expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their guidance on the path of public

welfare.

The special Guru Purnima ritual began early in the morning

at the Gorakhnath Temple and concluded with a group aarti. Gorakhpeethadhiswar

and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his heartfelt greetings to all

countrymen on Guru Purnima. While visiting the Gorakhpeethadhiswar, Yogi

Adityanath, and worshipping Guru Gorakhnath and the gurus of the Nath sect are

integral to his daily routine. However, Guru Purnima is a special occasion for

worship at the Gorakhnath Temple.

On Wednesday, the Gorakhpeethadhiswar performed ceremonial

worship before Mahayogi Gorakhnath, all the idols in the temple complex, and

the statues of the gurus of the Nath sect, amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. As

part of the ceremonial events, he first paid his respects to the Adiguru of the

Nath sect, Lord Gorakhnath, and offered him special prayers amidst chanting of

Vedic mantras. He then approached all the idols in the complex and worshipped

them. After that, he went to the Samadhi of Baba Gambhirnath, his

grandfather-guru late Mahant Digvijaynath and Gurudev late Mahant Avedyanath,

along with their departed gurus, one by one. He worshipped them all amidst

chanting of Vedic mantras and took their blessings. As per the special

tradition of Nath sect in Gorakhnath temple, Mahaprasad of roti was also

offered to Guru Gorakhnath. After the ritualistic process of worship was

completed, the traditional collective Aarti performed on Guru Purnima.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mentioned in a post on X, “Infinite

dispel the darkness of ignorance and illuminate life with the divine light of

knowledge, values, and righteousness. In the eternal Sanatan culture, the Guru

holds the supreme position; it is through their selfless grace alone that the

disciple receives true inspiration for dharma, discernment, and 'national

devotion. Millions of salutations to all the revered Gurus who guide humanity

and build an exemplary and value-driven society.”
