Lucknow, 29 July (HS): Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap

Shahi said that due to the efforts of Modi and Yogi Government, seeds,

fertilizers and irrigation facilities are being provided to the farmers on time

during the Kharif season. A target of about 107 lakh hectare area was set for

Kharif crops in the year 2026, of which about 95 percent coverage has been

completed.

1,73,641 quintals of certified seeds have been made

available to farmers at 50 per cent subsidy, besides 16,449 quintals of free

minikits of crops like pulses, oilseeds, millet and sawa have been distributed.

Under the Toria Seed Minikit Scheme, 1,000 quintals of Toria seeds will be made

available, in which 600 quintals will be distributed as free minikits and 400

quintals will be distributed on subsidy.

To promote agricultural mechanization, online booking of

agricultural equipment has been started, and farmers are being provided farm

machine banks, custom hiring centres and 40 percent to 80 percent subsidy on

agricultural equipment. Between April 1 and July 28, 2026, the state received

57.70 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer, out of which 28.88 lakh metric tonnes

have been distributed to the farmers and 28.82 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer

is still available.

Earlier, where about 1,500 cooperative societies used to

distribute fertilizers, now fertilizers are being delivered to the farmers

through about 7,000 resource cooperative societies.

In the last one week, fertilizers have been sold at record

levels every day, on many days 50 thousand to 65 thousand metric tonnes of urea

has been distributed every day. Giving top priority to the interests of

farmers, the Modi and Yogi government has strengthened the availability of

fertilizers, strengthening of cooperative institutions, agricultural

mechanization, distribution of quality seeds and irrigation system.
