MP Ujjwal Raman Singh met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari
Prayagraj, 29 July (HS): MP Ujjwal Raman Singh met with Union Road and
Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi and submitted a memorandum of
demands. During the meeting, the MP strongly advocated for the construction of
bypass roads in the major markets along the Karchana-Kohdarghat-Drummondganj
section of National Highway 135C (NH-135C).
MP representative Vinay Kushwaha stated that in a letter submitted to the Union
Minister, MP Ujjwal Raman Singh stated that this 58-kilometer-long road is a
very busy route in the region. Several important commercial and public centers,
such as Rampur Bazaar, Karchana Bazaar, Bardaha Bazaar, Kaithi Bazaar, Kaua
Bazaar, Bhadewara Bazaar, Kohdar Bazaar, Meja Energy Corporation, and Koraon
Bazaar, are located along this route. The NTPC Meja ash and crusher plant
produces a large amount of gravel. This leads to daily traffic jams in these
markets due to the movement of heavy trucks throughout the day.
Hundreds of people have died prematurely due to the
uncontrolled movement of heavy vehicles. Citing the safety of the local population
and smooth traffic, MP Ujjwal requested Union Minister Nitin Gadkari that the
construction of bypass roads next to all these markets is essential for the
public good. He urged the Union Minister to take appropriate steps in this
direction as soon as possible to ensure that local residents and passersby are
relieved of the daily accidents and traffic jams. The representative said that
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has taken this demand letter submitted by the MP
seriously and has assured necessary action on it.
