Lucknow, 29 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

pays respects to the legendary social reformer and educator Ishwar Chandra

Vidyasagar on his death anniversary on Wednesday. The Chief Minister often

hails Vidyasagar on X (previously Twitter), referring to him as a pioneer of

the Indian Renaissance. He stresses Vidyasagar's lifetime devotion to women's

literacy and social equality, which continues to inspire generations. The

yearly tributes are attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and

Brajesh Pathak. Maurya lauds his unwavering opposition to deep-rooted societal

problems, as well as his pioneering endeavor to build humanism, equality, and

public awareness.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mentioned in a post on X, “On

the death anniversary of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, the pioneer of the Indian

Renaissance, a great educationist, and a lifelong devotee of women's

empowerment, we offer our humble tribute. His Herculean efforts to eradicate

deep-rooted social evils and to promote women's education remain an eternal
