Prayagraj, 29 July (HS): The Sri Guru Purnima festival was

celebrated with great pomp and show by Mahamandaleshwar Kalyani Nand Giri

(Chhoti Maa) of Kinnar Akhara. Hundreds of Kinnars participated in this

procession with drums and cymbals. This procession was taken out from Kotwali

which passed through Shahganj, Khuldabad and ended in Lukarganj. Amazing art

forms were also displayed in this procession which was a mesmerizing sight.

Throughout the route, people came out of their houses and

welcomed this procession with garlands of flowers in their hands. Apart from

Kinnars, people also congratulated the procession by dancing and singing to the

tune of music. The Shobha Yatra ended after reaching Lookar Ganj. During this,

Mahamandaleshwar Chhoti Maa said that today everyone needs to gather to protect

Sanatan. This festival of Guru Purnima reflects the unique relationship between

the Guru and the disciple and Sanatan is so strong in itself that no one can

ever weaken it. On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Maa Kamakhya Jagran

Parivar Rohit Kali Art Group gave their presentation. Disciples like Shivani

Nand Giri, Kamchhi Nand Giri, Rohit Kali Nand Giri etc. worshipped the Guru

with devotion.
