Lucknow, 29 July (HS): Minister of State for Basic Education

(Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh said that schools with low student numbers

will be merged with nearby schools and pre-primary schools will be run in

vacant schools. Pre-primary classes are being conducted for the first time by

the Uttar Pradesh government. The education system was made transparent by

bringing the anti-copying ordinance, which was cancelled by the previous

government. For example, rigging and paper leaks in various examinations

conducted during the previous government were mentioned.

Uttar Pradesh's education budget, which was Rs. 28,000 crore

under the previous government, has now increased to over Rs. 113,000 crore.

Enrollment in government schools has increased from 13.4 million to 19 million.

The dropout rate has decreased from 19% to 3%. Curriculum has been improved,

and under Operation Rejuvenation, performance in council schools has improved

from 36% to 97% on 19 different parameters.
