
Varanasi, 29 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath reached Varanasi to participate in the nationwide 'Shri Guru Ravidas
Maharaj Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan' being organised from Wednesday under the
aegis of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the occasion of the 650th birth
anniversary of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj. Before the programme
at Seer Govardhanpur, the birthplace of Sant Ravidas, the Chief Minister paid
obeisance to his statue at Sant Ravidas Temple and offered prayers. Here, the
officials of the temple management welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting
him a turban and a bouquet. After the prayers at the temple, the Chief Minister
met Sant Niranjan Das, head of Dera Sachkhand Ballan and took his blessings.
After darshan and puja at the temple, the Chief Minister
participated in the Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan. Under this campaign, soil from
the holy birthplace of Saint Ravidas ji will be filled in 131 urns and sent to
98 organizational districts of Uttar Pradesh and 27 states and six zones of the
country. By worshipping these urns, an effort will be made to spread the
message of social harmony, equality and humanity of Saint Ravidas to every
person. Under this event, a series of various programs will continue till Maghi
Purnima Saint Ravidas Jayanti on 20 February 2027.
According to Lal Singh Arya, National President of the BJP
Scheduled Castes Front, programs will be organized in several phases under the
campaign. From July 29th to September 10th, 2026, the Shri Guru Ravidas
Maharaj Kalash Vandan Abhiyan will run at the national, state, district,
and divisional levels. A Sant Sampark Abhiyan will be organized from July 29th
to August 31st, 2026. Following this, the Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj
Samrasta Yatra will be held from Jalandhar to Kashi from October 5th to
November 5th, 2026. This Yatra will pass through Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal
Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar
Pradesh. Additionally, the Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Hostel Sampark
Abhiyan will be conducted from November 26th, 2026, to January 15th,
2027.
