Guwahati, July 28 (HS): The Budget Session of the 16th Assam Legislative Assembly will conclude on July 29, two days ahead of its scheduled end. Speaker Ranjit Kumar Das announced the decision in the House on Monday after the Question Hour.

The Speaker said the session has been curtailed in view of the devastating floods across Assam, with relief and rescue operations continuing in several districts. He noted that MLAs need to visit flood-affected areas to assist people and oversee relief efforts.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee held on Monday. Members of the Assembly welcomed the Speaker's announcement to end the session earlier than planned.----------
