Guwahati, 26 July (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation through the 136th episode of Mann Ki Baat, paying tribute to Kargil war heroes and highlighting India's achievements in defence, space, sports and education. Assam BJP said in a statement that PM also urged citizens to participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign ahead of Independence Day.

Across Assam, BJP workers gathered at over 25,000 booths to listen to the programme. Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia and Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma attended community listening events at Teok and Azara, respectively.

Following the programme, Chief Minister Sarma announced that the Assam BJP will provide ₹12 crore worth of relief materials to flood-affected families, including mekhela chadors for two lakh women and clothing for at least two lakh children, while appealing to party workers and the public to support the relief drive.-----------
