Prayagraj, 26 July (HS): With the aim of promoting environmental

conservation and taking the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam (A Tree in Mother's

Name) campaign to the masses, the St. John Ambulance Brigade, North Central

Railway, Prayagraj, organized a massive tree plantation drive today. The event

took place at the New Building complex in Loco Colony (10th Road).

The program commenced in the distinguished presence of Chief Medical

Superintendent and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Surendra Nath, Additional Chief

Medical Director Dr. Parvez, Divisional Commander (Medical) Dr. Ashish Agarwal,

and Divisional Commander (Administration) Dr. Amit Malaviya.

During the drive, officers, special guests, and brigade members collectively

planted over 100 saplings. These included shade-giving trees, fruit-bearing

trees, and various species of attractive flowering plants. Participants pledged

not only to plant the saplings but also to ensure their conservation and regular

care, enabling them to play a vital role in creating a greener environment for

the future.

Following the plantation drive, a special seminar was held at the Central

Hospital Auditorium. Sharing their views during the seminar, Additional Chief

Medical Director Dr. Parvez and Divisional Commander (Medical) Dr. Ashish

Agarwal highlighted the importance of large-scale tree plantation for our lives

and emphasized that a better life can be led only by living in harmony with

nature.

They further noted that trees and plants not only purify the environment but

are also essential for water conservation, biodiversity, temperature control,

and ensuring a secure future for coming generations. An appeal was made to the

general public, urging every individual to plant at least one sapling in their

lifetime and take responsibility for its care.

The program was efficiently conducted by Amit Kumar Maurya. More than 50

members and retired officials—including Ambulance Officers Uday Chand Maurya, Rajiv

Singh, and Ratan Kumar; Divisional Secretary Alok Kumar Verma; Corporal Amit

Kumar Maurya; Sergeants Vijay Kumar, Pawan Kumar, and Rajiv Kumar Diwakar; and

members Tej Bahadur Yadav, Manish Kumar, and Ram Sajivan Patel—made significant

and commendable contributions to the success of this entire event. The St. John

Ambulance Brigade, North Central Railway, Prayagraj, has pledged to continue

organizing such programs dedicated to public welfare and environmental

conservation in the future.
