Agra, 26 July (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the Chief

Minister Teachers Cashless Medical Scheme in Agra. A memorandum of

understanding was also signed with Punjab National Bank. Higher Education

Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said the scheme fulfills a long-standing demand of

teachers and will provide them with a means to address their health concerns.

Minister Upadhyay emphasized that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has understood

the health concerns of teachers and has provided them with cashless medical

care.

He said that Yogi ji is not only the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, but

has also emerged as the head of every person's family, and the Yogi government

works on the principle of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka

Prayas'.

Minister Upadhyay urged the teachers to recognize their role as guides of

the society and consider this card as a symbol of certainty of life and

treatment for their families, which will act as a savior in times of crisis.

On Sunday, on the second day of his Agra visit, Chief Minister of Uttar

Pradesh Yogi Adityanath reached Shivaji Mandapam Auditorium located at Khandari

Parishad of Agra University and launched the cashless medical scheme as well as

the comprehensive insurance protection scheme for the university teachers.

Before this, after reaching Khandari campus, he visited the exhibition

organized on the theme of educational progress and development and social

contribution of the university in the university campus. During this, some

topics were also discussed with the Vice Chancellor of the University, Ashu

Kumari.

Around 10 lakh people, including 1.28 lakh university teachers and their

families, will benefit: During his address, CM Yogi said that this scheme will

benefit approximately 1.28 lakh teachers from universities, government-aided

and private colleges and their families, with an estimated coverage of around

10 lakh people. Under this scheme, every eligible family will receive free

treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per year. This card will provide treatment packages

for over 1,900 diseases, including all serious illnesses. The same rates as

Ayushman Bharat apply to this scheme.

The government has also signed an agreement with PNB in which teachers

will get accidental insurance of Rs 1.5 crore, air accident insurance of up to

Rs 3 crore, hospital expenses up to Rs 60 thousand i.e. cash benefit and term

life insurance of Rs 12 lakh.

In Indian tradition, the place of teacher is supreme: In his address, CM

Yogi, while referring to Indian culture and traditions, said that the teacher

has a paramount place in Indian tradition. He further stated that a true

teacher is one who imparts not only bookish education to their students but

also true and correct thinking and vision. In this regard, he also recounted

the story of the famous physician Jivaka.

He said that every student should have a desire to learn but it is the duty

of the teacher to show him the right path. Better results are possible only

when teachers keep showing the right path to their students.

Teachers also have a great responsibility towards their students: He further

said that now the teaching environment in educational institutions is not the

same as before, yet teachers should try to nurture the abilities of their

students, enhance their capabilities and work to take them forward as per their

interests and abilities. In the changing educational environment, proper use of

social media has become very important.

The need for proper use of social media in changing times: While social

media and digital platforms serve as educational tools, they also present the

potential for misinformation and misdirection. Young people can be misled by

misinformation from digital platforms, and therefore, it's crucial to steer

them in the right direction.

In the program organized in Agra district for the launch of the 'Chief

Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme', which provides health-security to

more than 7.50 lakh teachers of the Higher Education Department and their

dependent family members, UP CM informed, “Unfortunately, if any accident

occurs with a teacher, assistance of Rs. 1.5 crore will be provided to their

family under the 'Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme'. We are also

going to provide facilities to 50,000 non-teaching staff working in higher

education institutions. Students will have to make this effort from the very

first day. May our student not fall prey to any distraction. If we are to steer

both the present and the future in the right direction, it will also be

necessary to teach students about the importance of self-discipline. Social

media is a necessity today. Post good content, inform people about fake

accounts. The nation will sing your praises. We will make every teacher and

student proficient in the field of artificial intelligence. Those who do not

like India's progress want to create a situation of hatred in society in some

form or the other. One must certainly remain vigilant about this.

every possible assistance and support. Ahead of the sacred festival of Guru

Purnima, the 'Chief Minister Teachers' Cashless Medical Scheme'—which provides

health-security to more than 7.50 lakh teachers of the Higher Education

Department and their dependent family members—was auspiciously launched today

from Agra district. On this occasion, along with distributing Chief Minister

Teachers' Cashless Medical Cards, an MoU was also exchanged between the Higher

Education Department and Punjab National Bank to provide a social security

shield to teachers. I am fully confident that our teachers, while duly

benefiting from this scheme, will contribute to the unity, integrity, and

progress of the state and the country. Heartfelt congratulations to all

teachers, non-teaching staff, and their family members,” mentioned UP CM in a

post on X.

After attending university programmes, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath left

for Mainpuri by helicopter at around 12:20 pm from the helipad at the Central

Hindi Institute.
