Golaghat (Assam), 25 July (HS): Three accused, including the prime suspect in the sensational triple murder case, escaped from police custody in Assam's Golaghat district triggering a massive manhunt, police informed on Saturday.

The main accused, Nazibur Rahman, along with two other undertrial prisoners, Rupam Kalita and Ajay Kalita, fled from the Shaheed Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital, where they had been admitted for treatment.

According to reports, the three allegedly escaped by taking away a police motorcycle from the hospital premises before fleeing the spot.

The daring escape has created panic in the district, with police launching an intensive search operation to trace and re-arrest the absconding accused. An investigation has also been initiated to ascertain how the prisoners managed to escape from police custody.-----------
