Amethi, 25 July (HS): Seven wagons of a urea-laden freight train derailed at

Sindurwa railway station in Amethi district on Saturday morning, interrupting

rail service to the Indorama fertilizer factory, police said. Passenger train

services between Lucknow and Sultanpur were unaffected. The freight train had

left at 5 a.m. when seven of its carriages derailed on the section between the

fertilizer factory and the Sindurwa railway station, police said.

Mukesh Kumar, Station House Officer, stated that no one was wounded in the

event.

He stated that restoration efforts were ongoing to fix the damaged track and

reinstate train movement to the plant. The official further stated that the

incident had no effect on passenger train operations on the Lucknow-Sultanpur

railway route, which were running regularly.
