
Mumbai, 25 July (HS): A mild earthquake of
3.6 intensity struck Maharashtra’s Nashik and Palghar districts on Saturday
morning. Four tremors were recorded around 9.55 am in Borgaon of Surgana tehsil
of Nashik district. Report of any damage to properties or life has not been
received. The epicentre of the earthquake is stated to be around 44 km
north-west of Nashik city.
Palghar was shaken qround 10.57 am. The National
Centre for Seismology recorded intensity of the earthquake at 3.1. Tremors were
felt in Dhudalwadi Kasa area in Dahanu Tehsil of Palghar district. The
epicentre was stated to be 93 km north of Mumbai and at a depith of 9 km.
People came out of their houses. However, no damage
has been reported.
The administration has appealed to the people not to
believe in any kind of rumour.
