Guwahati, 25 July (HS): Assam Agriculture Minister Pijush Hazarika has announced that the state government will distribute free paddy seeds and seedlings to farmers in the flood-affected districts of Upper Assam within the next four days. The Minister was talking to media persons after attending a program in Guwahati on Saturday.
The minister said the initiative is aimed at helping farmers resume cultivation after floodwaters recede. Once the affected areas become suitable for farming, farmers will be able to transplant the seedlings and restart agricultural activities without delay.
Hazarika reiterated the government's commitment to supporting flood-hit farmers and ensuring that agricultural production is restored at the earliest.---------------
