Imphal, 24 July (HS): Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Friday inaugurated the newly built District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) building at Salam in Imphal West along with the Ima Market, marking a major push towards improving education infrastructure and enhancing livelihood opportunities.

The DIET building has been established under the Samagra Shiksha (Teacher Education) programme, while the Ima Market has been developed through the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme.

MLA S. Rajen Singh and senior government officials were present during the inauguration ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the new facilities would improve teacher training, strengthen public service delivery and create better economic opportunities for local communities, especially women vendors. He reiterated that the government remains committed to inclusive development, good governance and prioritising investments in education and public infrastructure for the state's overall growth.-----------
