Bhubaneswar, 23 July (H.S.): The Odisha Government has announced a 5% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees, raising the rate from 257% to 262% with retrospective effect from January 1, 2026.

The enhancement was notified through an Office Memorandum issued by the Finance Department, under which the additional DA will be applicable to employees drawing pay in the pre-revised pay scales under the Odisha Revised Scales of Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2008.

The decision has been taken in line with the Central Government's revision of Dearness Allowance and after taking into account the state's financial position and fiscal targets.

The revised DA will benefit a wide range of employees, including state government employees, staff of aided educational institutions, teaching and non-teaching employees of universities, subordinate judicial officers, work-charged employees, and job contract workers covered under the ORSP Rules, 2008.

According to the notification, the enhanced DA will be reflected in the salary for July 2026. Arrears for the period from February 2026 to June 2026 will be released separately after the disbursement of the July salary.
