New Delhi, 22 July (H.S.): The social media campaign Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has refused to hold talks at the residence of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda. The CJP has stated clearly that negotiations should take place at Jantar Mantar or at a neutral location nearby.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das told reporters on Wednesday that police contacted CJP representatives early in the morning to inform them that Union Minister Nadda wished to hold discussions and had invited them to his residence, but the CJP rejected the proposal.

Saurav Das as said no CJP representative would go to any minister’s home or office. He said a public court is being held at Jantar Mantar and if the government wants to hold talks, ministers should come among the people. He said negotiations should take place at Jantar Mantar itself. If ministers are unable to visit Jantar Mantar for security reasons, he said the CJP is ready to hold talks at a neutral location near the protest site. He added that the group is still awaiting a response from the Union Minister.

Das said the government’s intention should not be limited to formal discussions but should be to take concrete decisions on their demands. He said there is no justification for calling for talks without any meaningful objective. He noted that thousands of people are still participating in the protests and the CJP’s entire focus is on managing the movement. He said the government must clarify whether it genuinely wants to hold meaningful talks with the protesters.

It is worth noting that during the Parliament march on July 20, a two-member CJP delegation had visited JP Nadda’s residence and submitted a memorandum. Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were among those who met Nadda. During the meeting, Nadda had urged the CJP to end the protest.
