New Delhi, 21 July (H.S.):

A high-powered committee constituted by the Supreme Court has invited suggestions and representations from the public, experts and other stakeholders on issues related to the Aravalli hills and mountain range. The committee is required to submit its comprehensive report to the Supreme Court by August 31, 2026.

The Supreme Court constituted the high-powered committee through an order passed on May 25, 2026, in a suo motu writ petition (Civil) No. 10/2025. The committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting a detailed examination of environmental, biodiversity, mining, livelihood and other related issues concerning the Aravalli region.

The committee has invited suggestions from stakeholders across Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and other states, including environmentalists, conservationists, non-governmental organisations, mining lease holders, project proponents, villagers, farmers, mine workers, local communities, and all individuals and organisations having a legitimate interest in matters related to the Aravalli ecosystem.

The committee has clarified that suggestions and representations should, wherever possible, be accompanied by documentary evidence or other verifiable material to support the submissions.

All representations may be submitted through email and the designated Google Form within 21 days from the date of publication of the notice.
