Lucknow, 21 July (HS): A major decision was taken to

accelerate the operations of the Uttar Pradesh Outsourced Services Corporation

at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday. The

cabinet approved a proposal to provide the corporation with an interest-free

loan of Rs. 20 crore, provisioned in the 2026-27 budget. This decision will

strengthen the operations of the newly formed corporation and make the management

of outsourced services in the state more systematic and transparent.

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, while announcing the cabinet

decision, said that the Uttar Pradesh Outsourced Services Corporation has been

formed as a non-profit public limited company under Section 8 of the Companies

Act, 2013. The corporation's objective is not to earn profits, but to deliver

public services in a more effective, transparent, and systematic manner.

Efforts to strengthen the administrative structure: He said

that the corporation is currently in its initial stages of operation.

Therefore, financial assistance was needed to strengthen its administrative

structure, develop other systems, including the centage charges levied on

outsourcing agencies, and to smoothly begin operations. In light of this, the

state government has decided to provide an interest-free loan of Rs. 20 crore.

He stated that the corporation would not be able to repay

the loan from its income in the initial years. Based on preliminary estimates,

the corporation would have no debt repayment obligation for the first five

years. After that, the corporation would repay the loan from its income at a

rate of Rs. 2 crore per year over the next ten years.

Approval of proposal worth Rs 25.78 crore for making fire and

emergency services more effective: An important decision was taken at the

cabinet meeting to further strengthen the fire and emergency services. The Yogi

cabinet granted administrative and financial approval of Rs. 257.88 million for

the construction and purchase of a total of 44 water tenders and 5 foam tenders

for the department.

Under this decision, 5 water tenders (2500 liter capacity)

will be manufactured to meet the new demand. Additionally, 39 water tenders

(2500 liter capacity) and 5 foam tenders (5000 + 500 liter capacity) will be

manufactured and purchased to replace the unused ones. All these vehicles will

include chassis, high-pressure pumps, fabrication, and necessary accessories.

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that Fire and Emergency

Service is a very important emergency service, whose objective is to control

fire incidents in rural, urban and industrial areas in a quick and effective

manner. The Finance Minister said that this decision has been taken keeping in

view the need of modern fire tenders to extinguish fires in the state's

congested localities, crowded urban areas, towns, industrial units, petroleum

and gas installations, chemical units, airports, helipads and warehouses of

paint and other inflammable liquids. He said that these small water tenders are

being arranged for those places where fire fighting vehicles are unable to

reach to extinguish the fire.
