New Delhi, 21 July (H.S.):

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday visited Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in Delhi and met students who were injured during the Parliament march from Jantar Mantar. He inquired about their health and took details regarding their treatment from doctors.

Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal and MP Deepender Hooda. The Congress leaders interacted with the students admitted to the hospital and took updates on their condition.

The official X handle of the Congress party stated that Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and K.C. Venugopal met students who were injured during the protest following the alleged police action and lathi charge.

The party alleged that the future of students was being put at risk and that they were being subjected to police action for raising their voices. It demanded that the government take responsibility for the paper leak issue and called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

It may be noted that clashes broke out between police and protesters on Monday while security personnel attempted to stop demonstrators marching towards Parliament from Jantar Mantar. Several students were injured during the police action and were admitted to different hospitals for treatment.
