Jammu, 21 July (H.S.): During the intervening night of 20/21 July 2026, BSF troops deployed at BOP Malabela (134 Bn BSF) under the jurisdiction of Police Post Pargwal, PS Khour, apprehended a Pakistani national while he was attempting to cross the International Border (IB) from the Pakistan side into Indian territory.

The intruder was detected after BSF personnel noticed suspicious movement near the border. Despite repeated warnings and challenges by the sentry to stop, the individual continued advancing and was subsequently overpowered and taken into custody at BOP Malabela.

During preliminary questioning, the apprehended individual identified himself as Mohammad Rafiq alias Kala (53), son of Mohammad Safiq, resident of Village Pindi, Pakistan. He stated that he had travelled from Village Looni (Pakistan) and was proceeding towards Village Jung (Pakistan) to meet his married sister. BSF recovered a Pakistani National Identity Card, spectacles, cigarette packets, lighter, tobacco, cake, mango biscuits, chocolates, nail cutter, and wallet from his possession.

The Pakistani national is presently in the custody of BSF at BOP Malabela, where further questioning and verification are underway. The circumstances surrounding the border crossing are being investigated.
