Heavy rains forecast in Maharashtra from July 21 to 26 forecast


Mumbai, 21 July (HS): After a long gap, which caused concern for the farmers, rains with full force in most parts of Maharashtra has been predicted from July 21 to 26. Heavy rains are expected in Mumbai, Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Vidarbha regions. Heavy to very heavy rains can hit Konkan, Goa and some parts of Central Maharashtra.

Low pressure in

coastal Gujarat has resulted in positive climate for the northern regions of

Maharashtra and East Vidarbha. An orange alert has been issued for Pune, and hilly

regions of Satara. Heavy rains are also expected in Bhandara, Gondia,

Chandrapur and Gadchirli districts.

Red alert has been

issued for hilly areas in Pune, and Yellow alert has been sounded for Nashik,

Pune, Sindhudurg, Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Satara, and Kolapur on July 22.

On July 23, possibility

of heavy rains are expected to hit Coastal Konkan, Mumbai, Yhane, Palghar,

Nashik and Kolhapur’s hilly areas; yellow alert for Rantangiri, Raigad, Thane,

Palghar, Nashik, Satara and Palghar and entire Vidarbha region.; yellow alert

for Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Pune, Satara hilly region and Gondi on July 24.

Form July 25 the

monsoon is expected to be slow. Strong wind on Coastal Konkan and adjoining

hilly areas for two to three days with heavy rains has been forecast with

thunder showers.
