Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Gitanjali J Angmo on Tuesday expressed her gratitude to the Delhi High Court for its order directing Wangchuk’s transfer from Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi to Medanta Hospital following the hearing of her petition.

Gitanjali posted on X, thanking the Delhi High Court for passing an order in favour of admitting Wangchuk to Medanta Hospital, which was chosen by the family. She also expressed her appreciation for advocate Akhil Sibbal, Bahuli Sharma and their respective teams for their support in securing the decision within a crucial timeframe despite challenging circumstances.

“Heartfelt thanks to the Delhi High Court for ordering Wangchuk’s admission to our preferred hospital, Medanta. Despite extremely difficult circumstances, we sincerely thank advocates Akhil Sibbal, Bahuli Sharma and their teams for this timely victory,” she wrote.

It may be noted that Sonam Wangchuk, who was on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, was admitted to a hospital by the Delhi Police on the 21st day of his protest.

The protest is related to alleged irregularities in the education system and the NEET paper leak issue and is being led by the social media campaign Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).
