
Guwahati, 21 July (HS): Assam Police has seized 24 kg of suspected opium valued at around ₹1.6 crore during an anti-narcotics operation carried out by Kamrup Police, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday.
According to the Chief Minister's social media post, one person has been apprehended in connection with the seizure, while further investigation is underway to trace the drug network.
Praising the operation, Dr. Sarma commended Assam Police for its continued efforts against narcotics and reiterated the state's commitment to its Assam Against Drugs campaign aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks.-----------
