Hooghly, 18 July (H.S.): A high-level administrative meeting was held at the Haripal Block Office on Saturday to review preparations for the smooth, safe and orderly conduct of Shravani Mela 2026. The meeting focused on security arrangements, traffic management, healthcare facilities, drinking water supply, sanitation and other essential civic infrastructure for the lakhs of devotees expected to attend the annual pilgrimage.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Labour Bhaskar Bhattacharya, Minister Sumana Sarkar, Tarakeswar MLA Santu Pan, senior officials from various government departments, elected representatives, and top police and district administration officials.

Detailed discussions were held on crowd management, deployment of security personnel, emergency response mechanisms and inter-departmental coordination to ensure the seamless conduct of the fair. Officials said comprehensive arrangements are being put in place to provide a safe and convenient experience for pilgrims.

The administration expressed confidence that with coordinated efforts by government departments, police, local authorities and volunteers, Shravani Mela 2026 will be conducted peacefully, safely and efficiently.
