
Imphal, 18 July (HS): Manipur Police and security forces carried out a series of successful operations across the state on Friday, arresting a proclaimed offender wanted in an NCB case, two alleged drug traffickers and an active cadre of the banned outfit SOREPA.
In one operation, Manipur Police arrested Mohd. Amir Khan alias Rahaman, a resident of Moijing Wangmataba Chingya Leikai in Thoubal district, who was a proclaimed offender in a Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) case registered under the NDPS Act. The arrest was made following a request from the Additional Director, Delhi Zonal Unit of the NCB.
In a separate raid, police apprehended Md. Zakir Hussain (44), alias Tomba, from his residence at Lilong Leihaokhong Leinung Hotel Maning in Thoubal district. Police seized contraband items including Codeine cough syrup, P-NIETRA 10 tablets suspected to be N-10 tablets, and TROSPAS Plus capsules from his possession.
Meanwhile, in Jiribam district, Konjengbam Kulla Singh (47) of Lakhipur Chingkha Ward No. 9 was arrested from the Lamkhai Bazar area of Jiribam town. During the operation, police recovered approximately 56.8 kg of suspected ganja from his possession.
In another operation, security forces arrested an active cadre of the banned SOREPA outfit, identified as Yumnam Naresh Singh alias Kakpa (26), a resident of Wangjing Sorokhaibam Leikai. He was apprehended from the Thoubal Haokha area under Thoubal Police Station in Thoubal district.
Police said further investigation is underway in all the cases.---------
