Darrang (Assam), 18 July (HS): A man was electrocuted to death after coming into contact with a snapped high-voltage power line in Assam's Sipajhar, triggering allegations of negligence against the electricity department.

The deceased has been identified as Dimbeswar Nath. According to local residents on Friday, the high-voltage wire had been hanging dangerously in the area for a long time despite posing a serious threat to public safety.

The incident has sparked anger among locals, who blamed the electricity department for failing to repair the hazardous power line in time. Residents have demanded immediate action to prevent such tragedies in the future.-----------
