Prayagraj, 16 July (HS): The third day of the Combined

Annual Training Camp (CATC-69) of 15 UP Battalion NCC was marked by intensive

military training, technological exposure, and disaster preparedness activities

for the 660 NCC cadets participating in the camp. A major highlight of the day

was the selection of Junior Division and Junior Wing cadets for the Prayagraj

Team of the Thal Sainik Camp (TSC). Cadets displayed enthusiasm and

determination while undergoing various selection tests aimed at identifying the

most deserving candidates to represent Prayagraj at the prestigious NCC

competition.

The cadets also underwent hands-on drone training, where

they were given practical experience in drone operation and familiarised with

its applications in surveillance, disaster management, and national security.

The practical sessions generated great enthusiasm among the cadets, who

actively participated in learning this emerging technology. Regular military

training continued with sessions on drill, map reading, and weapon training,

enabling cadets to strengthen their military skills and enhance their

confidence.

An informative Lecture-Cum-Demonstration (LCD) was conducted

by a team of Civil Defence officers on evacuation procedures during emergency

sirens. The officers explained emergency response protocols and supervised a

mock evacuation drill, allowing cadets to rehearse the procedures in a

realistic manner. The session significantly enhanced the cadets' awareness and

preparedness for emergency situations and was thoroughly enjoyed by all

participants.

Commanding Officer Col. Ritu Srivastava Rawat informed the

press that the camp is providing cadets with a unique blend of military

training, leadership development, technological awareness, and disaster

preparedness. She appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the cadets during the TSC

selection, drone practical sessions, and Civil Defence exercise, and emphasized

that such training helps develop confident, disciplined, and responsible future

citizens.
