
Lucknow, 15 July (HS): On the occasion of World Youth Skills
Day 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, Department of Vocational
Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, organized a state-level
program at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow on Wednesday. On this
occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched several schemes related to
skill development, employment, entrepreneurship, and industry.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said
that today, employment fairs are being held for youth in the state. Campus
selection of youth is taking place. He said that youth are the strength of
Uttar Pradesh. Today, Uttar Pradesh has become the fastest-growing economy in
the country.
The Chief Minister said that before 2017, the then
government had become a bad omen for the state. There was an atmosphere of
insecurity in the state. Earlier, daughters and businessmen were not safe. One
family had a monopoly on government jobs. Nothing could be done without money.
Uttar Pradesh gradually became a sick state. Uttar Pradesh, a state blessed by
nature and God, labelled as sick. Without security, investment would not come
to the state. The youth was worried about the future. There were no jobs for
the youth. Uncles and nephews used to extort money. The youth faced an identity
crisis. Yogi said that there should be no place for a government that neglects
youth and forces artisans to migrate. Recommendations are no longer required
for jobs. Youth are no longer forced to migrate.
Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of Vocational Education, Skill
Development, and Entrepreneurship, stated that youth in Uttar Pradesh are
finding employment and self-employment through skills. He added that the Yogi
government has trained 2 million youth in the last nine years, of whom 1.25
million have found employment. He added that the target is to train 1 million
youth in 2026-27.
The minister stated that Project Praveen
provides skills training to schoolchildren, and the Zero Poverty
plan is launching a special employment campaign for youth from poor families,
women, and the disabled. Minister of State Kapil Dev Agarwal, MLC Mukesh
Sharma, MLC Pawan Singh Chauhan, MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora, and several officials and
officers were present at the event.
