
Lucknow, 15 July (HS): On the occasion of World Youth Skills
Day 2026, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a skills development
exhibition at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan and released the
Kaushalam booklet, which compiles the skills development
initiatives of the central and state governments. He also honored 11 young
people.
On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day-2026 in Lucknow,
in the honoring ceremony for the youth who became self-reliant through
employment and entrepreneurship after receiving training from the Skill
Development Mission and ITI, Minister of Vocational Education, Skill
Development and Entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Agarwal said that youth in Uttar
Pradesh are getting employment and self-employment through skills. The Yogi
government has trained 2 million youth over the past nine years, of whom 1.25
million have found employment. The target is to train 1 million youth in
2026-27. The budget of the department has been increased 9 times to Rs 3310
crore and a CSR MoU of Rs 7000 crore has been signed with the Tata Group,
through which 225 ITI's have been upgraded. Training is being provided in
modern trades like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, IoT etc.
Blue Dot software has been developed where youth can upload
their biodata and companies will contact them directly. Under 'Project
Praveen', skill training is being provided to school children, and under the
'Zero Poverty' scheme, special employment campaigns are being run for youth
from poor families, women and the disabled.
Youths like Krishna Kumar Sahu, Bhavna Dubey, Gyan Prakash
Verma, Rajrani and Shubhra Vishwas shared their successful experiences in the
programme.
Meamwhile, UP CM mentioned in a post on X, “Skills, along
with being a means of employment, form a strong foundation for self-reliance,
self-respect, and a 'Developed India.' Continuing with this resolve, today I
will participate in the felicitation ceremony in Lucknow on the occasion of
World Youth Skills Day-2026 for the youth who have become self-reliant through
employment and entrepreneurship after receiving training from the Skill
Development Mission and ITI. The skills of the youth power are the greatest asset
of the 'New Uttar Pradesh.”
