Nagaon (Assam), 15 July (HS): Two schoolgirls were killed and another sustained injuries after an MGNREGA signboard collapsed on them at Dhaniyabheti in Assam's Batadrava on Wednesday.

The tragic incident occurred while the children were playing near the site. The deceased have been identified as Tahida Khatun and Rima Khatun. Another girl was injured in the accident and is undergoing treatment.

The incident has triggered grief in the locality, with residents expressing shock over the fatal mishap. Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to the collapse of the signboard.-----------
