
Guwahati, 15 July (HS): West Guwahati District Police (WGDP) arrested two alleged drug peddlers during an anti-narcotics operation carried out at Katabari under Garchuk Police Station on Wednesday.
According to police, the accused have been identified as Jintu Mondal (35), a resident of Lalganesh, and Azan Ahmed (19) of Barsapara.
During the operation, police recovered nine vials containing 10.54 grams of heroin, ₹5,680 in cash and a motorcycle (AS-01 DS-9801) allegedly used for transporting and trafficking narcotics.
The seized contraband and other items have been taken into custody and a case has been registered against the two accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Police have launched a further investigation to ascertain whether the accused are linked to a larger drug trafficking network.----------
