Guwahati, 15 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said that a skilled and empowered youth population forms the foundation of a developed Assam and a developed India.

Marking World Youth Skills Day, the Chief Minister praised the achievements of Assam's talented youth and acknowledged their contribution to the state's progress. He said the government has expanded skill education to more than 1,700 schools across Assam while introducing various training programmes to equip young people with industry-relevant skills.

Dr. Sarma highlighted the role of the Assam Skill University in creating a robust ecosystem for skill development and vocational education. He reiterated that the state government remains committed to enhancing the capabilities of Assam's youth so they can compete successfully on the global stage and contribute to the state's long-term growth.-----------
