
Guwahati, 15 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday paid heartfelt tribute to eminent Assamese personality Radhagobinda Baruah on his death anniversary, describing him as a visionary leader, an indefatigable worker and a dreamer who played a defining role in shaping modern Assam.
Calling him the architect of modern Assam, the Chief Minister said Baruah's contributions to sports, journalism, social life and the growth of national consciousness continue to inspire generations. He noted that Baruah's far-sighted vision was instrumental in establishing landmark institutions such as Nehru Stadium and the Tribune newspaper group, leaving an enduring legacy in the state's development.
