
Bhubaneswar, 15 July (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday welcomed the Union Cabinet’s approval of the Paradeep–Haridaspur railway line doubling project, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening the state’s railway infrastructure and boosting industrial and economic growth.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister said the project would enhance logistics efficiency, improve rail connectivity to Paradip Port, increase freight movement capacity and help reduce congestion on the railway network.
Majhi stated that the initiative would play a crucial role in ensuring more efficient transportation of goods and passengers while further strengthening Odisha’s position as a key logistics and industrial hub under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
He added that the project would create new opportunities for investment, development and employment generation in the state.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Odisha, the Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their continued support and commitment towards expanding railway infrastructure and accelerating Odisha’s overall development.
The railway doubling project is expected to improve operational efficiency, provide better connectivity to major industrial and port-based activities, and contribute significantly to the state’s economic progress.
