Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted the developmental achievements of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government over the past 12 years, stating that India has undergone significant transformation during this period, with the welfare of the poor, deprived and socially marginalised remaining at the centre of the government's efforts.
In a series of posts on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said that the guiding principle of Antyodaya—the upliftment of the last person in society—has shaped the government's approach to development. He noted that sustained efforts were made to ensure that the benefits of growth reached those who had remained excluded from development for decades.
PM Modi said that flagship initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission and Ayushman Bharat were designed to provide citizens with a dignified life and greater opportunities for progress.
The Prime Minister emphasized that technology has played a crucial role in advancing welfare programmes. According to him, Direct Benefit Transfer systems and digital platforms have enabled government assistance to reach beneficiaries directly and transparently. He said this has reduced leakages, improved efficiency and strengthened public trust in governance.
PM Modi further stated that the government's welfare initiatives have evolved into a broader mission of human empowerment, supporting the national objective of building a developed India. He said continuous efforts have been made to ensure that people who remained outside the mainstream of development for long periods receive equal access to opportunities and essential services.
The Prime Minister added that the various welfare schemes implemented during the past 12 years have brought positive changes to the lives of millions of people across the country. He said these initiatives are laying a strong foundation for the vision of a developed India and helping to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
According to PM Modi, the government's focus on inclusive growth, social welfare and technology-driven governance has played a key role in accelerating India's development journey while ensuring that the benefits of progress reach every section of society.
