Hooghly, 05 June (H.S.): A crucial administrative meeting was held at the Serampore Sub-Divisional Officer's (SDO) office on Friday to discuss the reopening of two closed jute mills in the Serampore region. The meeting was attended by West Bengal Minister of State Bhaskar Bhattacharya, representatives of the jute mill management, the Sub-Divisional Officer and other concerned officials.

Speaking to Hindusthan Samachar after the meeting, Bhattacharya said the discussions focused on the possibilities and procedures required to restart the two closed mills.

The minister described the meeting as productive and said detailed discussions were held with representatives of the mill management. The state government and the administration have sought necessary information and documents from the management, which are expected to be submitted to the sub-divisional administration by Monday.

Bhattacharya said further steps would be taken after reviewing the information provided by the management. He expressed hope that with the cooperation of all stakeholders, the closed jute mills in the area could resume operations soon.
