UP CM participates in symposium on theme 'Solutions to the Challenges of Climate Change in Uttar Pradesh


Lucknow, 05 June (HS): On World Environment Day, Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath presented the state with various big projects. The

Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management initiative, India's first Air Shed-based

initiative with a Rs. 2,741 crore investment and World Bank backing, was

inaugurated during a function at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Thursday. The

MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister by Anne Janet Glover,

World Bank Practice Manager for the Asia Region, and B. Chandrakala, CEO of UP

CAMP. By clicking the launch button, CM Yogi officially inaugurated the 'Ek Ped

Maa Ke Naam' huge campaign. He also launched UP CAMP's logo and website. During

the ceremony, a short video featuring UP CAMP's efforts was screened.

The Chief Minister presented a compilation relating to the

notification of 100 wetlands in Uttar Pradesh, as well as the Wetland Portal.

He also introduced the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Plantation Campaign 2026' logo,

which aims to plant 35 crore trees. The chief minister also debuted the Uttar

Pradesh Pollution Control Board's mascot. During the event, it was revealed

that Gulra (Ken Nala) in Shravasti will be designated as a Biodiversity

Heritage Site.

Surha Tal in Ballia has been declared as the 100th Ramsar

Site in India and the 13th in Uttar Pradesh. Forest Minister Dr. Arun Kumar

Saxena handed over the certificate to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on stage. CM

Yogi also presented a docket and a brochure about Uttar Pradesh's Ramsar sites.

The winners of the UP CAMP Logo Design Competition were honored.

The UP CAMP logo was designed in a

competition. The competition included 2,000 students from 100 schools, as well

as experienced designers. The Chief Minister awarded the victors on stage. Mahi

Raza of Class 7 won the first prize of Rs. 50,000 in Lalitpur. Sumbul Fatima

from Class 5 won Rs. 25,000 (Kannauj) as the second prize. Shraddha (Class 10)

won the third prize of Rs. 10,000 in Mirzapur. Winners of the Painting

Competition were also recognized. CM Yogi also recognized the winners of the

Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board's art competition.

Ajay Kumar Dubey (Divyang student) won first prize of Rs. 25,000. Srishti

Shukla won the second prize of Rs. 15,000. Sudhakar (Divyang student) won third

prize of Rs. 10,000.

On stage, the Chief Minister acknowledges six Gram Pradhans. A total of 100

Gram Pradhan from the wetland notification effort were recognized. Onstage, CM

Yogi recognized six Gram Pradhans. Their names are listed below: Rajkishor

Verma from Barabanki, Mantu Singh from Chitrakoot, Mansharam from Ayodhya,

Sushil Kumar Singh from Barabanki, Harendra Singh from Farrukhabad, and Anita

Devi from Chandauli.

occasion of World Environment Day, the launch of India's first Airshed-based

'Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Project' costing Rs. 2,741 crore, with the

support of the World Bank, took place today in Lucknow. On this occasion, under

the target of planting 35 crore saplings in the state, the logo of the 'One

Tree in the Name of Mother' Tree Plantation Mega Campaign-2026 was unveiled. Additionally,

participation took place in the symposium on the theme 'Solutions to the

Challenges of Climate Change in Uttar Pradesh,' and the dossier of Uttar

Pradesh's Ramsar sites was released. Along with awarding the winners of various

environment-related competitions, the mascot of the Uttar Pradesh Pollution

Control Board was also unveiled. To promote environmental conservation, clean

air, water, and green development, the double-engine government is working with

full commitment. While establishing a balance between nature and progress, we

are continuously striving to build a safe, clean, and prosperous future for
