(HS): Senior Congress leader Anantrao Thopte passed away on at Pune’s Deenanath

Mangeshkar Hospital, Thursday following a brief illness. He was 93.

Thopte represented

six times Bhor Constituency in Pune for several years and was a cabinet

minister. He was also Guardian Minister of Pune District. .

His son Sangram

Thopte is a former BJP MLA.

Chief Minister

Devendra Fadnavis has condoled the death of Anantrao Thopte. He worked hard for

developing cooperative and banking sectors in Pune. He was instrumental in

Mahanand Cooperative Dairy, he said.
