
Mirzapur, 05 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister AK
Sharma visited the Maa Vindhyavasini Temple on Friday and performed the rituals.
After the worship, he spoke to the media about the state's power system,
stating that the government is continuously striving to provide better and
uninterrupted power supply to the people of the state.
The Energy Minister stated that despite the steady increase
in electricity demand during this intense heat wave, the state's power system
remains robust. He added that an average of 20 hours of power supply is being
ensured in rural areas and 24 hours in urban areas. In the event of disruptions
due to storms, hurricanes, or other technical issues, department teams
immediately engage in repair work.
Regarding the questions raised regarding smart meters, the
minister stated that this is not a new issue. He added that the smart meter
system aims to provide transparent, modern, and better services to consumers.
The government is continuously working to further strengthen the power system.
He appealed to the
consumers that if there is any disruption in power supply or any technical
problem arises, then inform the departmental officers about it. Upon receiving
the complaint, it will be resolved on priority basis. The Energy Minister said
that the power system in the state has improved a lot compared to earlier and
continuous monitoring is being done at the departmental level to solve the
problems of the consumers. Extensive security arrangements were made in and
around the Maa Vindhyavasini temple complex for the arrival of the Energy
Minister. During this, officials of the Energy Department, local public representatives
and administrative officers were also present.
