Mirzapur, 05 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister AK

Sharma visited the Maa Vindhyavasini Temple on Friday and performed the rituals.

After the worship, he spoke to the media about the state's power system,

stating that the government is continuously striving to provide better and

uninterrupted power supply to the people of the state.

The Energy Minister stated that despite the steady increase

in electricity demand during this intense heat wave, the state's power system

remains robust. He added that an average of 20 hours of power supply is being

ensured in rural areas and 24 hours in urban areas. In the event of disruptions

due to storms, hurricanes, or other technical issues, department teams

immediately engage in repair work.

Regarding the questions raised regarding smart meters, the

minister stated that this is not a new issue. He added that the smart meter

system aims to provide transparent, modern, and better services to consumers.

The government is continuously working to further strengthen the power system.

He appealed to the

consumers that if there is any disruption in power supply or any technical

problem arises, then inform the departmental officers about it. Upon receiving

the complaint, it will be resolved on priority basis. The Energy Minister said

that the power system in the state has improved a lot compared to earlier and

continuous monitoring is being done at the departmental level to solve the

problems of the consumers. Extensive security arrangements were made in and

around the Maa Vindhyavasini temple complex for the arrival of the Energy

Minister. During this, officials of the Energy Department, local public representatives

and administrative officers were also present.
