NEW DELHI, June 4 (H.S.): The Saket Court in Delhi on Thursday sent hotel owner Lovkesh Bajaj, arrested in connection with the Malviya Nagar fire incident, to four days of police custody.

The Delhi Police produced Bajaj before the court following his arrest and sought his custodial interrogation for four days.

During the hearing, counsel for the accused argued that a copy of the First Information Report (FIR) had not been provided to the defence. In response, the Delhi Police assured the court that the FIR copy would be furnished.

The fire broke out on June 3 at a hotel in Malviya Nagar, Delhi. In the tragic incident, 21 people lost their lives after being trapped in the basement and succumbing to smoke inhalation and burn injuries. Several foreign nationals were also among the deceased.
