Guwahati, 03 June (HS): Claiming that Guwahati is on the path to becoming one of the most beautiful urban centres in the region, MLA Pradyut Bordoloi said that within the next two years, “even the gods in heaven will stop and look at Guwahati in admiration.”

The legislator announced an ambitious initiative to plant one lakh Azar and Kanchan trees across the city as part of a large-scale urban greening programme. The plantation drive is aimed at enhancing the city’s natural beauty while improving its environmental sustainability.

Bordoloi stated that the effort is part of a broader vision to transform Guwahati into a “Purple City,” known for its vibrant floral landscape and greener surroundings. He expressed confidence that the extensive plantation campaign would significantly improve the city’s aesthetic appeal and ecological balance in the coming years.

The MLA urged citizens and stakeholders to actively participate in the initiative, emphasizing that collective efforts would be essential in shaping a cleaner, greener and more attractive Guwahati.----------
